Whole house with a private courtyard in Pyrmont

Absolutely fantastic location for exploring Sydney, reasonable family house. Positive: The inner city location is fantastic, perfect for exploring central Sydney with public transport (bus, metro, light rail and ferry all within walking distance) and the house was clean and is comfortable enough. The noise of the city did not bother us although it could be an issue for some people use to quiet suburb or country living. Contact with the property manager was also friendly and they did their best to make our stay pleasant by providing us with things that we missed in the house. The electric heaters were efficient at keeping the house warm in winter. We did not use the back garden as we were always exploring the city. The photos of the home show it as it is. For the price it is good value and we would stay again. Negative: I think that this house has only recently become a holiday rental and it has a lot of potential to become a great family holiday home. It is an older inner city building and there are some items and issues that still need to be fixed. The home is advertised for 5 people, however the dining table and sofa are not large enough for 5 people. The beds are ok and it would be better (especially in winter) if the blankets and linnen were all the correct size for the beds and that each bed had 2 pillows. The kitchen is large enough for the home and you can easily prepare meals for 5+ people. With a few more items it would have everything you need. The laundry has a good washing machine but unfortunately there is no dryer or drying rack which was a challenge with a young family and with getting clothes to dry. The bathroom works however it definitely needs to be renovated to make it a good bathroom.

Simple but convenient - comfortable for a family of 4 with grown up kids. Positive: Fabulous location with plenty of room to spread out. Negative: Small things like having to search for the hand towel for the bathroom - found in the linen cupboard, tea towels not able to be found, tradie still painting at the property when we arrived. Clean could have been more thorough - some brown marks on dining table that were there when we arrived came off with a gentle wipe using a wet tissue. Spare pillows in cupboard had no pillow cases on them- had to go searching for them in the middle of the night.

Extremely disappointing experience. The property was in a very poor and unhygienic condition. Positive: The location was convenient for exploring Sydney. Negative: This was an extremely disappointing and distressing experience. The condition of the property was completely unacceptable and nothing like the listing photos and description. We found extensive mould, rotten/damaged doors, heavy dust and dirt, dirty bed linen and a serious lack of cleanliness and maintenance. We simply could not stay there with our family and had to leave after the first night. We contacted Booking.com immediately and spent hours trying to get urgent help, until around 2:00 a.m. Despite the seriousness of the situation, we were given conflicting information and ultimately left to deal with the problem ourselves. The owner did not provide an adequate solution either. After only around four hours of sleep, we had to spend the following morning urgently finding replacement accommodation, costing approximately AUD 1,000 for two nights. We had booked only three nights in Sydney, so this situation effectively cost us one entire day of our family holiday. What makes this even more frustrating is that we have photographs and videos documenting the condition of the property and provided evidence to Booking.com. Yet after everything that happened, the property continues to be advertised. We strongly warn future guests to think very carefully before booking this property. Our experience was not simply disappointing — it was completely unacceptable, extremely stressful and a major disruption to our family holiday.

New refurbished and good location but needs some more comfort Positive: Facilities and location Negative: Pillows and towels are too small and skinny.

Positive: Location was great. Easy check in and check out Negative: Bedding covers not suitable. Not warm enough covers and pillows were flat like a piece of paper. Need throw rugs for beds and couch for winter. Only 3 breakfast bowls for a place that sleeps five. Towels were gross and need replacing. No trays for oven. No floor mat for bathroom
